Introduction
GMAT is the official test required by Universities abroad to pursue a degree in management. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) under the sponsorship of Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) publishes it.
Your GMATT score is the key factor that will determine your admission to more than 1700 management programs in US, European, and other schools worldwide. The admission committee also considers information such as, academic performance, work experience, statement of purpose describing your career goals, and references.
The GMATT is designed to predict how well you will perform in the first year of a graduate management program. The GMATT tests neither the specific knowledge of business nor achievement in a particular subject. The verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing skills that appear on the GMAT are those that you have already encountered or developed in your academic career.

Test details
The GMATT is conducted throughout the year except for Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The test lasts roughly four hours, and most centers offer two slots: 9 A.M. and 2 P.M. In the Test Scheduling form you will be asked for 5 choices of dates and you can list them down in order of preference and test center locations.
September to January is the high season for GMATT, so in case you intend to take the test during this period, you need to register very early (say 60 days in advance) to get a date of your choice. Otherwise, registering at least 3 weeks in advance is mandatory if registering by mail, and 7 days if registering by phone or fax.

The GMATT scores are valid for 5 years. During this period if you retake the GMATT your old scores will still be maintained in your record.
Total scores go up or down in ten point increments. In other words, you might receive 490 0r 500 on the GMATT, but never 494 or 495.
